Stef Van Der Laan, Nathalia Oliveira and Jesse Shannon in Interview Russia by Mark Segal
“The November edition of Vogue Netherlands enlists Marc de Groot for a story inspired by Transylvania, vampires and Victorian style starring cover girl Anna de Rijk. Fashion editor Marije Goekoop sets the stage for drama with the oversize silhouettes of Roberto Cavalli, Elie Saab, Valentino and Alberta Ferretti amongst others. With beauty by Irena Ruben, Anna impresses whether playing damsel in distress or vampire queen.”

Givenchy Fall 2009 Haute Couture.
Influenced by Morocco, Berber tribespeople, and equestrianism , Riccardo gave us opposite ends of the spectrum. He showed us fierce tailoring, nipped to perfection but he also showed us soft drapery. Embellished to high hell, the harem pants and jumpsuit left me aching for a desert trip. But the dark heat of the Middle East gave way to beautiful, light, and ethereal gowns that floated across the runway. This collection has always been iconic to me moreso because of the accessories. Spiked crowns, gilded facepieces, and plastic rings and bracelets that traveled up to shoulders have me clambering for my pocketbook.
Givenchy Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear.
I think I love this collection so much because it reminds me so much of my own style, especially the first 3 pieces- a lot of black, tailoring galore, and an obnoxious tangle of cross necklaces, a staple amongst my closet. A trip to South America had prompted Tisci to channel their religious reverence with touches of Hispanic heritage. Latex, lace, and applique, this collection has been cited by many fashion editors as the one that put Riccardo Tisci on the map.
Music Video Series: Paparazzi
By Lady Gaga
Had to do this eventually so why not now?! Aside from Bad Romance and Judas, this is one of my all-time favorite Gaga songs and videos! I even got my mom to fall in love with this song!
I love the meaning behind the song, and the visuals of the video. My absolute favorite part of the whole video (although a VERY small part) is at the very end when the cameraman at the police station tells her to lean in and she does the couture lean and gasp. I die every time.
This video gives me everything I need! Dior, a dark and heavy beat, maids in various death scenes, Jeremy Scott, Thierry Mugler, black lipstick, the triplets from Shot of Love, Alexander Skarsgard, the list goes on! And we won’t begin to talk about the yellow Minnie Mouse outfit…..perfection!
